  What Is Your Favorite Overlooked Movie?

  what i am talking about a movie that you thought was great, but is mostly forgotten by most people today.. well, my favorite overlooked movie is "a perfect world.

  " in it kevin costner is an escaped felon who escapes from prison with another felon.

  they then break into a house and kidnap a boy who is a (gasp!

  I really like films that are based on real people's experiences. Two of my favorites are "Shine" with Geoffrey Rush, based on the life of mentally-ill pianist David Helfgott, and "Champions" which is about a jockey named Bob Champion who overcame cancer and won the Grand National on a horse that had been injured so badly that the owners almost put it down. (The steeplechase sequence at the end of the film is just bitchin.) Both movies have weepy happy endings.

  I also thought "The Razor's Edge" with Bill Murray was a wonderful film but audiences apparently weren't ready to see the funny man in a straight role.

  im a liceinced electrician now working in wireless communication installations.i love the electrical industry,there is so much to learn and so many different things do work with and technology is always changing.never a boaring day especially when we are working in the office buildings downtown,chicks everywhere!.

  Why Is It That Americans Here Never.....

  slag off us brits?.

  i read all these posts (mainly by a couple of cuddly norwegians) about how the us needs to get it's act together, then there's a flurry of ripostes, the occasional nasty dig, a few generalisations and then the whole thing peters out until some bright spark feels the urge to start off the mischief once again.. well, im sick and tired of belonging to a perfect race and living in a perfect country.

  the uk obviously has the best economy, the best soccer teams, the best monarchy, the best teeth, the best cuisine, the best weather, the best tv, the best armed forces, the best penal system, the best paranoids,.

  Crystal Method - The Day The Crystal Cracked !!!

  Are crystals mystical objects? I dunno. I do know that I have always loved crytals and prisms. I have always yearned to own a crystal ball, not for divination, but for meditation.

  Among those of great-grandma's possessions left to Papa D is a Swarovski crystal turtle. We strung him into a little hammock and hung him in the bedroom window. I have rainbows in my room for most of every sunny day.

  The coolest thing I've ever seen was a prism effect in my fishtank. The afternoon sun struck the tank and cast a stripe of rainbow wallpaper behind it, and swimming across the rainbow atripe, tiny rainbow fish. All the tetras were prisming the light too. Awesome. My son and I sat, rapt, mouths gaping, watching it; the effect lasted about 30 minutes before the sun's angle changed and the tank went back to just a fishtank.

  Magical? Mystical? Who cares? Crystals are gorgeous. Rainbows are a benign high. I just groove on 'em.

  What is the crappiest job you have ever had?

  for me it was when i was living in mexico and i got a job as a waiter out of sheer boardom.

  the pay was lousy, the work was hard, the boss was an asshole, and at the end of the week i was told that i was not good enough to be a waiter and i was fired.

  thank god!.

  Night shift at a plastics factory making plastic bottles; tons of static electricity; occasionally during storms we'd get lightning strikes that would blow out the labelling machines (and the labeller running them). Lots of little fires as bottles got jammed in the line and stuck in the gas jet that shaped the bottlenecks. Constantly sweeping up plastic chips and getting static shocks. Running the box maker, getting bitched at every time the line jammed, getting glue all over your hands stacking them, getting plastic chips stuck to the glue on your hands. Banding full boxes and getting your hands shredded right thru the gloves by the metal bands. Having to play catch-up to fill all the other shifts' quotas when they slacked off and didn't fill the orders. SUCKY JOB!

  Do you find yorself still helping others??

  when we were "in" we were often told how and when to help out "brothers and sisters".

  now that many of us are "out" - do you find that you are still eager to help others in need??.

  or are you burnt out due to the amount of time being "forced" helping others before?.

  Mommie Dark

  I'm always willing to help someone in need. The difference between cult life and post-cult life is that I no longer feel a need to crusade for some cause. If asked for help or advice, I gladly give it. These days though I am trying to learn to mind my own business unless specifically asked. Not always succeeding, but working at it.

  I don't need salvation and I don't assume others need it either. But if I have something someone else needs, whether material things or just plain comforting, I'll willingly share.

  It's good to not live under a compulsion to serve. Service has to come from the heart or it's pointless.
